Interest rates on Certificates of Deposit (CDs) can vary depending on the length of the term and the initial deposit amount. Click here to view our current rates.
A Certificate of Deposit (CD) is a type of savings account that offers a fixed interest rate and a set maturity date. When you open a CD, you agree to keep your money on deposit for a specific period of time in exchange for earning a higher rate than a regular savings account. And some of our CDs also include a “Step Up” Option, which gives you the advantage of moving to a higher rate if rates increase after you’ve opened your CD. But think longer term, because withdrawing funds before the maturity date may result in a penalty. Click here to learn more about our CDs.

If you choose, it can also be set up to withdraw money from your savings account. You can use it anywhere the Visa® logo is displayed, making it a convenient way to pay for everyday purchases like groceries, gas, and more.
Each cardholder on a joint account has their own individual daily limits. Click here to view debit card withdrawal limits.
There is no charge for making a purchase with your Visa® check card.

It’s a good idea to keep important financial and legal records for set periods of time. Tax returns and supporting documents should be kept at least three years, and in some cases up to six. Bank and credit card statements or pay stubs can usually be kept for about a year, unless they’re needed for taxes. Property records, including purchase documents and proof of improvements, should be kept for as long as you own the property and a few years after selling. Loan documents should be saved until the loan is paid off, while insurance policies should be kept as long as they’re active, with life insurance and legal documents like birth certificates, wills, and powers of attorney kept permanently. To stay organized and secure, store originals in a safe place, keep digital copies, and shred outdated records that contain personal information. For more information, refer to trusted sources such as the IRS, Federal Trade Commission, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, or a professional accounting firm.
When deciding whether to buy or lease a car, consider both your finances and lifestyle. Ask about monthly payments, total cost, down payments, fees, insurance, and the car’s value at the end of a loan or lease. Think about your driving habits, including how many miles you drive annually and whether you want to customize the car. Consider how long you plan to keep the vehicle, whether you want ownership, and if you might want to trade in or sell it later. Also ask about lease-end options, maintenance, warranties, and how taxes differ between buying and leasing. Click here to use our Auto Buy or Lease calculator.

To establish good credit, you can start by opening a secured credit account, such as a Savings or Certificate of Deposit secured loan, or a Secured Visa® Credit Card. Cosigners lend their names and good credit histories to the maker. Should the maker die, lose a job, or otherwise fail to make payments, all responsibility for meeting the terms of the loan transfers to the cosigner. An often-overlooked aspect of cosigning a loan is the fact that the loan appears on both the maker's and cosigner's credit reports.

Because federal law requires that each of the three major credit-reporting agencies—Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion—provide you with a free credit report once per year, it’s a good idea to stagger when you request each report. By doing this, you can monitor your credit throughout the year, track updates from the three bureaus, and spot any errors that could lower your credit score. Staggering also helps you detect potential identity theft earlier, giving you more time to address any issues.
The federal government requires that each of the three national credit-reporting agencies—Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion—gives you a free credit report every year. You can request a free copy of your credit report by visiting AnnualCreditReport.com. According to the Federal Trade Commission, the only authorized online source is at annualcreditreport.com. Consumers should be aware that there are many sites out there that claim to offer “free” credit reports but often charge you for another product if you accept the report. To request your credit report by phone, call (877) 322–8228. To request your credit report by mail, write to Annual Credit Report Request Service, P.O. Box 105281, Atlanta, GA 30348-5281.

A credit union is a not-for-profit, member-owned financial cooperative that exists to serve people rather than make a profit. Unlike banks, credit unions return earnings to their members in the form of higher savings rates, lower loan rates, and fewer fees. They are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors elected by the membership, ensuring every member has an equal voice—one member, one vote—regardless of how much money they have on deposit. This democratic structure means members directly influence the direction and policies of the credit union, including dividend and loan rates. Guided by the philosophy of “people helping people,” credit unions strive to serve all members fairly while also giving back to their communities through charitable contributions. In short, credit unions provide a safe and convenient place to save and borrow, with the goal of benefiting members and strengthening the communities they serve.
