2023 Annual Report

Message from President/CEO

I am pleased to report exceptional financial results for 2023.  Total loan balances increased by $11 million to reach $419 million, as of December 31st.  Total assets increased by $7 million, ending the year at $580 million, and our net worth remains strong. Our outstanding financial performance resulted in the Board of Directors once again authorizing a $1,000,000 Loyalty Dividend in December. Over the last 5 years, FLFCU has returned nearly $5 million in loyalty dividends to our account holders.

Throughout 2024 we will remain focused on improving services and increasing both value and convenience.  We will introduce new online application solutions as well as several enhancements to other online and mobile services.  While borrowing rates are quite a bit higher than in recent years, we will strive to offer more favorable rates and terms to help our account holders keep more of their hard-earned money.  At the same time, we will do all we can to offer “top in market” yields on all our deposit products.  We always aim to deliver exceptional value to both borrowers and depositors.

Since becoming a true “community” credit union in 2020, we continue to see an increasing percentage of new accounts from areas outside of Fayetteville and Fort Liberty.  This summer we will open a full-service location in Southern Pines, on Brucewood Road.  This newly constructed state-of-the-art branch will provide added convenience for our account holders in the area and help us spread awareness of the “FLFCU Difference” to households throughout Moore County.

We will continue to give back to our local communities through volunteer service, sponsorships, and financial support. This year we have pledged support to the following organizations:  Fort Liberty Family & MWR, United Way of Cumberland County, Support Military Families, Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation, Family Promise of Fayetteville, the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation and Victory Junction.

We provide exceptional financial services to our Military and Civilian members and the communities we serve. We are committed to delivering on this mission statement each and every day. However, we cannot achieve this without fully understanding members’ needs. I encourage you to share your thoughts with any member of our staff or management, or feel free to email me at ToddK@MyFortLibertyFCU.org.

Thank you for your continued patronage and loyalty.

Todd Kenthack, President/CEO
